Scripture: Judges 7:19-23; Joshua 10:10
Saving us from ourselves is not the only application of God’s arrows of confusion. Divine confusion can also be used by God to save His people from their enemies. Consider the story of Joshua’s defeat of the men of Gibeon, or the story of Gideon’s defeat of the Midianites. When Gideon did as God had instructed, God brought confusion into the midst of the Midianites, and they killed each other instead of fighting the Israelites. In modern times, with so many factions promoting blatant darkness, it shouldn’t be a surprise if the Holy Spirit leads us to pray for rifts among the various facets of darkness. God causes the enemies to fight amongst themselves with rifts and they end up coming against one another. To ask God to widen this breach and cause them to more ferociously attack one another would seem appropriate!
