Scripture: Daniel 6
Daniel himself was a man who refused to bend to the whims of Babylon’s secular society. When the Babylonians demanded that he eat from the King’s table, he refused to defile himself, and was prepared to take the consequences. When worship and prayer to gods other than the Babylonian ones was mandated, Daniel and his companions refused to participate, and continued praying daily to the God of their fathers. No matter what was going on in the culture, Daniel lived his life faithful according to the laws of Moses, and he refused to do anything that he SHOULD NOT be doing just because those in authority demanded it! Just like his friends, Daniel was willing to pay the ultimate price in refusing to obey unjust laws! What kind of honor, radiance and spirit must have radiated from Daniel’s life that the Bablyonian king himself was hoping Daniel survived the night in the lion’s den?
