Scripture: James 1:2-4
Every once in a while concerning our nation, it is good to review where we have been as it will help us decide where we are going and how we want to get there. Although we all walk through various trials that test our patience, we know that there is growth and development in God’s eternal purpose in our lives. 43 years ago in 1975 two major Christians on the national forefront, Bill Bright of Campus Crusade for Christ and Loren Cunningham of Youth with a Mission came together to seek God for a strategy for changing the nation. As they prayed the Lord gave them what I believe was definitely a good strategy for a positive impact. The Seven Mountain Strategy was born out of their intercession and the focus of their implementation plan was that of evangelism. As we look at the seven mountains we have to ask ourselves, are these areas of society better off or worse off today than when these men of God formulated their strategy. And if the answer is that each area is worse today than it was back then, we have to seek God and ask what was missing in the implementation and what we must do to move things in the right direction. This is part of growth and development that we all go through and since the purpose is our growth into Christlikeness every once in a while we have to assess how well we are doing and how the harvest is going.
