Scripture: Colossians 3:12-14

Colossians 3:12-14 says, “Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.” We are told in Colossians 3:12-14 that the reason why we put on love is because it is the bond of tel-i-o-tace. It is the bond of maturity. If we love one another, if we forgive one another, if we warn each other, then we are putting on love, which is the bond of maturity. The reason why the bond of maturity is so important is because we can then receive each other’s corrections. Without having the humility to receive each other’s corrections, we are in deep trouble.
