Scripture: 1 Chronicles 10:13,14

1 Chronicles 10:13,14 states, “Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance, and did not inquire of the LORD. So the LORD put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse.” We are explicitly told why the Lord terminated Saul. It was for unfaithfulness, it was for consulting mediums and it was because he did not inquire of the Lord but moved in presumption. Usually I do not think presumption qualifies for termination. But in Saul’s case it was one of the contributing factors. It is important to study the different examples of termination in Scripture so that we know why God moves against man and what fills a cup of iniquity that ends a life. Saul is quite a study in that progressive process. The little foxes contribute to spoiling the vine!
