Scripture: Revelation 1:5,6

Revelation 1:5,6 says, “…and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever.” Jesus has made us both Kings and Priests and we have an obligation to equip ourselves to walk in both of those positions. If we do not equip ourselves to walk in both of these places, we are not ready prophetically for what unfolds in the end times. Regardless of our eschatology, regardless of whether we believe we are going to be raptured next week or whether we are going through the tribulation, facing the uncertain future requires preparation. Jesus has still made us both Kings and Priests. We see the church proficient in operating as Priests and almost unanimously abdicating their Kingly authority by refusing to judge. The result is painful to experience – rampant runaway evil destroying our culture uncontested by the church. That means every individual who does not understand what it means to stand in the Kingly office is unprepared to face the level of evil that is coming at us in the days ahead. Prophets prepare people for what is ahead. God has called us to be Kings as well as Priests, and each one of those callings balances the other out. While Priests show mercy, Kings declare justice saying ‘Yes’ to what Jesus bought and paid for.
