TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2
Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:4-8

1 Thessalonians 5:4-7 says, “But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.” As believers we find ourselves in a season that is beyond sobering. Are we prepared? How many of us can say we know Jehovah as a Man of war who delivers by great judgments? Do we need a crash course in getting to know God as Jehovah? Are we watching and being sober as verse 6 says? Has all the extent of the devastation taken us by surprise? The pandemic and all the accompanying layers of problem have led to great control by leaders many of whom cannot be trusted. How many of us are ready to acknowledge that we may have been asleep to a sudden prophetic fulfillment of prophetic warnings of Revelation? How many of us have the depth of Bible training to be prepared for such a season? Is our prayer life robust enough to sustain such enemy advances? Are we crying out, ‘God, help us become the believers we need to be for this season!’
