Scripture: Romans 12:2
How do we hold onto our faith when we are in the midst of Babylon, or even being trained by Babylon? The pressure to conform can be one of the most powerful forces on the planet. When everyone around us is pushing us in one direction, can we easily hold on to core beliefs that forcefully push in a countervailing direction? There are former celebrity pastors who now call themselves atheists. The desire to conform to popular beliefs in the world can lead to a loss of faith. Daniel and his friends must have faced immense pressure to worship Anu or Marduk and join the hordes of Babylonian wise men whom they counted as co-workers, but they never faltered in their faith! Psalm 2 is a word for the harvest of a generation of young people, “Ask of Me and I will give you the nations for your inheritance, the ends of the earth for your possession.”
