MONDAY, OCTOBER 21
Scripture: Matthew 12:46-50

In Matthew 12:46-50 the disciples came looking for Jesus. They declared to Him that His mother and brothers were outside and wanted to talk to Him. Jesus’ reply was noteworthy. “’Who is My mother and who are My brothers?’ And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, ‘Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.’” Jesus defined His Family and it was not the one He was born into physically. For us it can be, of course, if family members say yes to Jesus. Our real Blood relationship is only our natural-born family if they do the will of God. If not, we must look for those who are our Spiritual Family, for these are true Family. Those who are doers of the Word and have a relationship with Father are true Family. We need to learn this up front, quick, fast, and personal. This is a hard truth when our life may hang in the balance!
