TUESDAY, MAY 7
Scripture: Matthew 8:23-27

Verses 23-27 say, “Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, ‘Lord, save us! We are perishing!’ But He said to them, ‘Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?’ Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, ‘Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?’” These verses describe Jesus stilling the storm as a routine, spontaneous ordinary life event. God’s power is for the humble! He was under assignment. He carried God’s anointing which meant opposition that would derail the assignment had to be resisted with the full authority of the Family Throne backing Him up and available because He was also the Son of God. The question, “Who can this be that even the winds and sea obey Him?” is still a question that God expects us to answer probably in the same way! Do we expect the fullness of the Family Throne to back us up? We should, because our purpose is to demonstrate that God rules over demons in the affairs of men! Faith comes by hearing God’s Word and once we have heard it we are obligated to act on it! Through relationship with the Father, Jesus walked out His calling by obedience and sacrifice. He was at each and every given moment dependent on the Father’s leading and direction. Will we choose the path of Sonship through serving others? Will we choose the path of obedience and fulfill our purpose by demonstrating that principalities and powers have to bow to the authority of God’s Word even in the wind and waves? God’s dominion demands demonstration!
