Scripture: Exodus 33:13 -16

Exodus 33:16 says, “‘Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.’ And He said, ‘My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.’ Then he said to Him, ‘If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth.’” What do we look for when we are adopted and walk with God. We look for God making us separate. The sign that we are adopted into God’s family as His peculiar people is that God makes us separate, distinct and different. We have a relationship with Him and have been set apart to be His very own. We have been adopted and now we need to see God separate us from the world. Being separate means that God shows up for us in our behalf. He deals with those who rebel against Him! God did it in Egypt. May He do it again! This is a separateness that includes empowerment for our assignment and it will only come through wholehearted commitment to relationship with God. Passive Christianity will never get us there!
