SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 4
Scripture: Ephesians 5:25-27

Ephesians 5:25-27 says, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.” Men have the assignment of sowing blamelessness into people even when there is fault, blame, shame or failure just like Christ does for us. Sowing the seed of blamelessness requires thoughtful choices through our words since death and life are in the power of the tongue! The real surprise in this process is the harvest that comes through the women according to verses 32 and 33. These verses state, “This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless, let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.” The Greek Word for ‘respects’ is fob-eh-o. By sowing blamelessness, we reap the ‘fear of the Lord’. The wife is charged with birthing the fear of the Lord into the relationship. Fob-eh-o means to put to flight by terrifying, to seize with alarm, to be struck with amazement, to be startled by strange sights. Who would have ever thought sowing blamelessness would harvest the fear of God! May the fullness of the fear of the Lord come to the church!
