Scripture: Hebrews 12:14, Acts 2:28

Ephesians declares we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ in the heavenly places. Before the foundation of the world we were chosen and declared holy. Holiness is a necessity if we are to operate as a fruitful, productive member in God’s family. Hebrews 12:14 says, “Try to be at peace with everyone, try to live a holy life, because no one can see God without it!” Acts 2:28a quotes Psalm 16:11, “You will show me the path of life.” But when it is quoted in Acts, it changes tense “You have made known to me the paths of life.” Outside of Christ there is only death, there is no life. The fullness of the path of life demands holiness. The reason we are to choose to pursue holiness is because God guarantees His power and Presence will be seen through us! The glory of the Lord displaying the fullness of Christ goes to those who pursue holiness. We choose holiness because it is the path of salvation. The generations who walked before us in Scripture pursued the path to holiness and moved God’s Hand as a demonstration. Their stories are written as examples of what is available to us. The reason we should be passionate about pursuing holiness is because it is the path to power! And those who walk in the power of God are fruit-bearers and destiny-makers!
