Scripture: 1 Corinthians 14:14-15

Verses 14-15 state, “For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.” It is obvious Paul is saying a primary reason we pray in the Spirit is so we can also pray with our understanding and God can give us a revelation of the mystery. Tongues is a doorway into the mysteries of God. It is an invitation into understanding His purpose and any mystery as it relates to us and our gifting and calling. Tongues is one of the most valuable things that God has ever given us. It is an avenue into what we need to know in order to accomplish our calling in Christ. This is one door we can all walk through!
