Scripture: Jeremiah 1:17-19

Jeremiah 7:17-19 says, “‘Therefore prepare yourself and arise, And speak to them all that I command you. Do not be dismayed before their faces, Lest I dismay you before them. For behold, I have made you this day A fortified city and an iron pillar, And bronze walls against the whole land— Against the kings of Judah, Against its princes, Against its priests, And against the people of the land. They will fight against you, But they shall not prevail against you. For I am with you,’ says the Lord, ‘to deliver you.’” Is God going to be just like that for us? Of course He is! He does not give us any assignment He does not anoint us to do. God is amazing and He is fully invested in His warriors and He protects them. God gave this assurance to Jeremiah and it is written in Jeremiah “…for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.” We have better promises based on a better covenant! Could anyone kill Jeremiah? No! But did he have to spend some time trapped in a well? Yes! There was tremendous persecution that went with following God’s assignment, but his enemies could not kill him. No one could take him out before his appointed time. And in like manner as we walk in faith and obedience, no one can take us out before our appointed time. That is Who God is to us and all He asks us to do is walk with Him in faith.
