SUNDAY, OCTOBER 2
Scripture: Matthew 5:13

In Matthew 5:13 in the Sermon on the Mount Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.” When we stand on the covenant shoulders of Abraham and choose in faith to believe his covenant promises, then we are the salt of the earth. But if we do nothing with Abraham’s covenant and what his obedience bought and paid for, then the enemy walks on us. God intended that we be the salt of the earth. He gave us the authority. He gave us the power and He gave us the promises. But if we do not use them then we abandon our salt, our covenant and our promises. It is time the church stood victoriously on who we are in Christ! We are salt and light and it is time to act like it!
