SUNDAY, MAY 15
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:8b

1 Corinthians 12:8b says, “…to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,…” What is a word of knowledge? A word of knowledge is God communicating to us something that is happening that we are not aware of. The word of wisdom is what to do in a certain situation and a word of knowledge is having a God-awareness of what is going on so we can formulate a plan about what to do. God reveals things that we do not know so that we can formulate a response. And sometimes those words of knowledge are so that we can stop evil in its tracks. Sometimes words of knowledge are for the express purpose of preventative maintenance. God can alert us to something that is happening, unfolding or transpiring that we could not otherwise know. If God were to give us a word of knowledge about where the next terrorist attack was to occur, we could avoid it if we just wanted to save ourselves. But if we wanted to save others, we could pray to that end as well. Elijah had a tremendous gift of a word of knowledge operating in his life. And because of the Holy Spirit, words of knowledge are available to all of us. If we pursue the Lord, we can tap into words of knowledge that could potentially save many lives in the last days. Let us pray, ‘Lord, let the word of knowledge settle on us to save lives and help people in the days ahead. Let Your mercy and Your compassion, through words of knowledge, flow continually through our lives in Jesus name!’ No doubt many obedient intercessors have through their prayers brought God’s victory in situations that have never been published.
