Scripture: Acts 13:32-34

Acts 13:32-34 says, “And we declare to you glad tidings—that promise which was made to the fathers. God has fulfilled this for us their children, in that He has raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second Psalm: ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.’ And that He raised Him from the dead, no more to return to corruption, He has spoken thus: ‘I will give you the sure mercies of David.’” Jesus, on Resurrection Day, offered a covenant of Sure Mercy. In the longest sermon Paul preached that was recorded in the New Testament, he declared the first words out of Jesus’ mouth, ‘I declare to you, the covenant of Sure Mercy is yours!’ Every single person that chooses to believe in Jesus Christ has the personal promise of the Savior for the covenant. He gave us the covenant of Sure Mercy. God gave David the covenant of Sure Mercy, and in the New Testament Jesus in turn offered that covenant to us. As we move into the end-times, we should look much more like King David than anyone else! But we have to learn to war for righteousness’ sake and pray judicially. If we can learn to pray like David prayed, we can get the results that David got.
