WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30
Scripture: Exodus 20:15-17

Verse 15 says, “You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.” These last three commandments name important behaviors or motives of heart that we are to resist and avoid. Righteous living means walking upright before God. The last three commandments are; we shall not steal, we shall not bear false witness and we shall not covet anything that belongs to another. These are set in place in order that we may walk honorably before God and for the benefits that come through right living. When we obey the commands we walk in righteousness. Are we ready to walk in righteousness? We cannot do judgment if we do not walk in righteousness. It is a sad day when a nation walks away from the Ten Commandments! When we follow the Holy Spirit, we keep the law. Walking in the Spirit means God’s dominion rules in our hearts and against such there is no law! May God’s mighty men and women arise to righteous living!
