Scripture: John 16:7-11

John 16:7-11 says, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.” When Jesus gave the Holy Spirit, He gave the Holy Spirit to enable the church to keep the way of the Lord. The Spirit will convict the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. That is the way of the Lord. When is the last time the Holy Spirit brought the conviction of judgment through your life? The Holy Spirit was given to us to do that. The angels of the Lord are waiting for us to pray Spirit-led prayers of judgment they can execute. What the angel executed on Herod is likely a picture of what someone prayed after James was killed and Peter was jailed! We need to pray Revelation 22:12.
