Scripture: Exodus 11:1-7

Exodus 11:1-7 says, “And the Lord said to Moses, ‘I will bring one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. Afterward he will let you go from here. When he lets you go, he will surely drive you out of here altogether. Speak now in the hearing of the people, and let every man ask from his neighbor and every woman from her neighbor, articles of silver and articles of gold.’ And the Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants and in the sight of the people. Then Moses said, ‘Thus says the Lord: “About midnight I will go out into the midst of Egypt; and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the female servant who is behind the handmill, and all the firstborn of the animals. Then there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as was not like it before, nor shall be like it again. But against none of the children of Israel shall a dog move its tongue, against man or beast, that you may know that the Lord does make a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.”’” Finally the tenth plague is announced. And Moses announced the fact that close to midnight, the Lord would go through the entire land and the firstborn of every family would die, except it would not happen to the Israelites. Moses now had his God-given orders, he knew exactly what to tell people to do. They had to ask for articles of gold and silver, and consequently spoil the Egyptians and the Lord would not allow any tongue to move against an Israelite. Not even an animal of God could move its tongue against the Israelites. God wanted the Israelites to know that He was drawing a distinction between the Egyptians and the Israelites. Now if there was ever a lesson we need to learn it is how God draws a distinction between covenant people and those who are not. Sometimes we need to ask Him to make that line very, very clear. If there is a line that has been completely blurred in today’s society that is it. If anything, today’s unbelievers look at believers as second-class citizens. The line that God drew in Exodus needs to be redrawn in every nation in the earth! The question is, will we do it as the church in the last days so we can gain a harvest? Because without the fear of God, there will be no harvest. The awesome demonstration of deeds that will usher in the fear of God is something we have to be willing to pray for and walk in. The question is, will we?
