Scripture: Luke 3:4-6

Luke 3:4-6 says, “…as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying: The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight. Every valley shall be filled And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough ways smooth; And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.” Luke emphasizes the fact that doing the judgment of God opens the door for all flesh to see the salvation of God. So, in Luke’s understanding, salvation follows judgment. When we do judgment, we prepare for a harvest of salvation. Surely we are willing to prepare for a harvest of salvation. And the only way to do that is to follow the Spirit in doing judgment. Are we ready to say yes to the way of the Lord and start doing judgment?
