WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 15
Scripture: Acts 13:29-34

Verses 33,34 state, “God has fulfilled this for us their children, in that He has raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second Psalm: ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.’ And that He raised Him from the dead, no more to return to corruption, He has spoken thus: ‘I will give you the sure mercies of David.’” It is obvious that Jesus guaranteed the covenant of Sure Mercy for every single believer. And that means that Jesus has an expectation concerning New Testament believers. He expects that because He bought and paid for the covenant with David, He will have an army of Davids. But does the church look like an army of Davids? Do we act like an army of Davids? Do we think like an army of Davids? Why don’t we? Likely because the church has not been taught covenant. It was covenant that turned David’s debt army into mighty men. They became the greatest single army ever, an army that could not be defeated! One of them killed 800 men at one time, another 300! Covenant did that. Covenant made them who they were. Jesus died so that we could have the same covenant. Therefore there is an expectation that the end-times will demonstrate a spiritually-speaking Davidic army who can pray the Hand of God on their enemies, see God show up in their behalf and give them the victory of the harvest of nations that Jesus bled and died for. Are we ready to be an army like that?
