THURSDAY, MARCH 6
Scripture: II Samuel 7:8-9

Once we have said yes to the Priestly side of Sure Mercy that restores us from all our failures and dismisses any guilt or shame, then we embrace the Kingly side of Sure Mercy. 2 Samuel 7:8-9 says, “Now therefore, thus shall you say to My servant David, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “I took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep, to be ruler over My people, over Israel. And I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and have made you a great name, like the name of the great men who are on the earth.” The covenant of Sure Mercy guarantees that God will cut off any unrelenting enemy. Cut off is the Hebrew word kaw-rath and it literally means to covenantally remove. That is the promise. We can pray Psalm 110 expecting God to covenantally remove any enemy that has set himself against the church, its word or its practices expecting God to do just exactly for us what He did for David. That is the covenant that Jesus guaranteed. It belongs to us and once it becomes real on the inside now it is time to pray it! If we perceive an unrelenting enemy against our harvest field, we have a Kingly obligation to pray death and destruction like David did in Psalm 55:15!
