Scripture: John 10:10

In my formative years as a faith teacher, John 10:10 was very much my dividing line. It says of course, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” I judged everything based on whether it had an adverse impact on me. If it had an adverse impact on me, I judged it to be demonic and I resisted it. Anything that adversely impacted me, I resisted because I judged it/discerned it as demonic. It is amazing how discernment changes as a revelation of God’s Word increases in our lives. As I began to grow in the understanding of God’s Word, the revelation of His Word caused a discernment shift. Look around the Body of Christ and let us ask ourselves how many people have never walked through a discernment shift. Let us perhaps ask ourselves if we have walked through all the discernment shifts that God has for us.
