Scripture: Luke 22:35-38

Jesus announced His own transition to a lion when he said, “And He said to them, ‘When I sent you without money bag, sack, and sandals, did you lack anything?’ So they said, ‘Nothing.’ Then He said to them, ‘But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a sack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one. For I say to you that this which is written must still be accomplished in Me: “And He was numbered with the transgressors.” For the things concerning Me have an end.’ So they said, ‘Lord, look, here are two swords. ‘And He said to them, ‘It is enough.’“ Jesus announced a seasonal change. Jesus said, “There is something you need more than a coat. You need a sword – so buy it!” Buying a sword from the Lord Jesus is the process of moving from seeing yourself as a lamb, to seeing yourself as a lion. When we transition spiritually, things dramatically change. Business as usual is no longer an option because we have identified with the Judicial Christ. “But now,” means “Shift! Change! Transition in how you think. Buy your sword.” The problem with the church today is that we have not been willing to pay the price to buy the sword. But Jesus commanded us to. He paid the price. Look at the price Jesus paid to buy a sword – it was ultimate. The degree to which we can ask God to weigh out to the enemy is the degree to which we taste of that sword. Are we willing to say yes to Him? If we have to die to certain things to do it, that is part of the process. Jesus had to die to everything. Buy your sword!
