SUNDAY, APRIL 1
Scripture: Genesis 1:1, Revelation 21:1,2

For most of us in the church, when we think of creation we think of Genesis 1:1 where, in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. But if we follow His creative acts all the way through Scripture, we discover something. God never stops being the Creator. In the Nelson New King James Study Bible, the heading over Revelation 21:1,2 says, “New Heaven and Earth are created.” Verses 1,2 go on to say, “Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” Jesus is just as much a Creator today as He was in Genesis 1 when He created the first heavens and earth. In order to fully appreciate what is being offered to the church in this season, we need to follow instances of creation throughout Scripture so that we feed our faith on the breadth, length, width and depth of the creative nature of God. God wants to share some creating with us.
