SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11
Scripture: 2 Chronicles 6:41-7:3

The thing we learn about David in the covenant of Sure Mercy is that even to the end of his life, God was redeeming his failures. With the last one, the redemption was a revelation of a place of mercy for the temple. Solomon built a temple designed by his dad. The operational plan came from dad. The wealth to build it came from dad. Solomon witnessed his dad interact with a real God who answered prayer! Solomon himself was a son of mercy! God proved His covenant commitment because when Solomon prayed and asked God to remember the mercies of David, the fire fell and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. We are that temple today, but it has to be built on the authority of God’s Word. It is in the revelation of His Word that, once again, the fire comes. I trust we are gaining that understanding.
