FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18
Scripture: Matthew 10:24-34

In Matthew 10:24-34, we find Jesus going right to the heart of the issue and talking about releasing the sword. Jesus tells us in verse 28, “…do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell…” Jesus made it clear to the Twelve that when He stepped in judicially, it would not just be one death, but there were two that would be involved. The one we should fear is the one that kills twice when we rebel against Him. It is time we represented the God who kills twice. Not because we want to see anybody removed, but so we may demonstrate that God has not changed but is the same, yesterday, today and forever. There is a penalty for evil when people refuse to repent. Just like He judged Herod, He will judge leaders today. Are we ready for that?
