Scripture: 1 Samuel 16:7,18

1 Samuel 16:7 and 18 state, “But the LORD said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.’…Then one of the servants answered and said, ‘Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the LORD is with him” God is looking at our heart. When He sees a heart for justice, I believe the Lord rejoices because He knows there is somebody who will take this revelation and will embrace it and walk in it. They will not be a Saul-like king. When we say yes to revelation, we resemble King David. Verse 18 describes him, “…a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and (most of all) the LORD is with him.” That is the King that God is raising up in the church today. The emphasis is not on how we look, but on the Lord is with us. And when the Lord is with us, the authority of the Throne is present. That is where we want to stand today – what a place to be! As we stand with the King, His justice will come!
