Scripture: Genesis 15:9-10, Jeremiah 34:18-20, Deuteronomy 28:1-3

The very first step in covenant always demanded a sacrifice.  That is why the animals were brought and they were cut in half and offered to the Lord.  If you are going to renew a covenant it starts with a sacrifice.  You must let God determine it, ask Him what it is, how much you are to pay for it, who you are to give it to, so that He defines the sacrifice.  Let Him direct!  He will.  It is a guarantee.  Every Blood Covenant was a blessing because it doubled your assets.  Now the problem with gaining access to the assets of your covenant partner was that he gained access to yours.  And when he asked for your assets, if you did not oblige then your family would have to take your life because you broke the covenant.  Blood Covenant is a tremendous blessing but also has dramatic consequences and gives God the ability to demand from us, at any point, any place and any time.
