SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11
Scripture: John 19:6-12

In this passage we have the last mention of fear in the Gospels and it is the account of Jesus being accused by the chief priests before Pilate. This passage says, “Therefore, when the chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, ‘Crucify Him, crucify Him!’ Pilate said to them, ‘You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him.’ The Jews answered him, ‘We have a law, and according to our law He ought to die, because He made Himself the Son of God.’ Therefore, when Pilate heard that saying, he was the more afraid, and went again into the Praetorium, and said to Jesus, ‘Where are You from?’ But Jesus gave him no answer.” Pilate was intent on letting Jesus go. Jesus brought the fear of God to rulers like Pilate. If Jesus brought the fear of God to rulers and He lives on the inside of us, then we can bring the fear of God to the rulers of our generation of both the church and the nation in the last days. But to do that we need the boldness that is birthed from walking mature and secure in the blamelessness Christ has given us. That is one function of the Sonship gifts that we need to grow in because our harvest is waiting on a restoration of the fear of the Lord!
