Scripture: Daniel 3:26-30

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were willing to stand up for righteousness. Because they were thrown into the fire and by faith quenched the fire, they subdued the kingdom of Babylon. And Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, did the preaching, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent His Angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God! Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation, or language which speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made an ash heap; because there is no other God who can deliver like this.” Verse 30 continues, “Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego in the province of Babylon.” Their faith was tested in the extreme and they were promoted. They walked in the face of death and quenched the violence of fire. The second promotion was hard won but they got it because they refused to compromise. They walked in righteousness, they walked in holiness and chose the Word of God over everything else and the Lord preserved them.
