WEDNESDAY, JULY 6
Scripture: Jude 3-12, 1 John 1:8

How do men turn the grace of God into licentiousness? One of the things they do is believe that with the grace of God, because of all that Jesus did on the cross, there is no more judgment. They recklessly and irresponsibly believe that repenting covers everything. If people believe this, they are saying that one sacrifice for our sins forever means that you can keep carelessly sinning. But that is not true. 1 John 1:8 says, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” The problem is that we sin and because we sin, we need the forgiveness and mercy of God. But believing the mercy of God is a license to sin without consequence is a dangerous trap. That belief is to turn the grace of God into licentiousness and we cannot afford to do that.
