Scripture: 1 Peter 5:6-9

1 Peter 5:6-9 says, “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist/anth-his-tay-mee him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.” Peter and James agreed. It is obvious they learned the same thing from Jesus. They learned when to turn the other cheek and when to resist. We have to learn the same thing. It is the job of the Holy Spirit to show us when and how to resist. But if we are approaching the end-times, we should start to consider that we will be called to resist far more and begin preparing accordingly. Believers who have embraced Matthew 5 but failed to grow up in James 4 and 1 Peter 5 need a complete change of mentality. The question is, are we really willing to grow up in Christ? God is asking us to grow up in Him. Will we say yes to that? That is what the Lord is asking. Growing up means facing what is in the Word, even the book of Revelation. Eventually we need to represent the Judge of all the earth. The angels are going to help and the Holy Spirit is going to lead and direct us into it. But we are going to have to prepare and declare it. We are going to have to decree it and we are going to have to pray it. Are we really ready for that? If not, we have to change the way we think!
