FRIDAY, MAY 6
Scripture: Acts 13:40,41, Isaiah 29, Habakkuk 1:5

Acts 13:40,41 says, “Beware therefore, lest what has been spoken in the prophets come upon you: ‘Behold, you despisers, Marvel and perish! For I work a work in your days, A work which you will by no means believe, Though one were to declare it to you.” Acts 13:41 was a passage quoted from Isaiah 29. Isaiah 29 makes it clear that people who do this are losing what God ordained for them in their generation. The warning in Isaiah begins in Isaiah 29:1, and is a warning of the loss of the city of Jerusalem. It goes on to say in verse 13, “Therefore the Lord said: ‘Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men.’” All those who walk this path may well forfeit the cities and nations that God intends to give. Can we really afford to lose a harvest of cities and nations that God intends to give? Yet there is a warning here, that we are just about to do that. Habakkuk 1:5 uses the same Scripture over the nation of Israel. We have an issue of cities and nations we could lose if we do not embrace the pattern of David. We are exhorted to do that and we should begin preparing now!
