SUNDAY, JUNE 7
Scripture: Mark 10:42,43

Jesus made it very clear that He was not going to tolerate the world’s methods within the Kingdom. Basically what He said was, “Those who are considered rulers over the Gentiles…” and he used the Greek Word kat-ak-oo-ree-yoo-o, which means ‘To subdue or to use a God-given authority against’. In the world, people use their God-given authority against others to get what they want. Jesus did not want that in His Kingdom. He does not want people having authority that they use on each other to get what they want. When He gives authority, He gives it so we can help people, not gain advantage over them. The purpose and reason for spiritual authority is advancing the Kingdom – helping people, saving them or delivering Kingdom justice. Jesus made it very clear that we cannot operate that way in His Kingdom. People that operate that way, on Judgment Day, will wish they had not!
