Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 2:1-4

1 Thessalonians 2:1-4 says, “For you yourselves know, brethren, that our coming to you was not in vain. But even after we had suffered before and were spitefully treated at Philippi, as you know, we were bold in our God to speak to you the gospel of God in much conflict. For our exhortation did not come from error or uncleanness, nor was it in deceit. But as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts.” Do we know the God Who tests our hearts? Do we know the God Who demands that we be free of deceit, free of uncleanness, free of guile so that we can be trusted with the Gospel? Do we speak as those who refuse to please men? Do we pass the test that God brings to our hearts? It does not say He tested their minds, it says He tested their hearts. And do we pass God’s heart-tests? Who is Jesus to us? Is He the God Who tests our hearts? Do we want to walk through the last days unscathed? Do we want to walk through the last days and gain a harvest? Then we had better know the Jesus of 1 Thessalonians.
