Scripture: Genesis 12:1-3

In Genesis 12:1-3 we are told, “Now the Lord had said to Abram: ‘Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. I make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’” The five “I wills…” in the covenant that God made with Abraham, each speak to a unique arena of submission that the Lord desires to bring us into, but are often demanding and difficult. It also outlines for us God’s Judicial standard. And His Judicial standard is simple, “I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you…” So we become God’s Judicial standard – how people treat us is how God treats them. What they do to us, God will do to them. He will reward people according to their works in support of His people, His plans and His purposes. In this covenant we become a living plumbline. Living plumblines force the issue of Kingdom Justice. God is a God of Kingdom Justice and He is committed to seeing that justice manifested. How you witness, walk or live and what you say provokes a response. The response often demands justice!
