THURSDAY, JULY 3
Scripture: Acts 13:46-49

Paul and Barnabas were bold and they declared, “It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles. For so the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have set you as a light to the Gentiles, That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.’” It is interesting that, when the Gentiles heard this, they were really glad. They began to praise God and many of them were saved. The Word of the Lord was being spoken throughout the entire region. Paul and Barnabas were experiencing tremendous success but the Jews still plotted persecution. It is interesting to note Paul and Barnabas’ responses to the mounting persecution. We need to learn from biblical patterns so that we can be ready to act biblically.
