October 2013 Outcry

Proverbs 29:1–9 is the best description of the two opposing political forces waging war against each other in Washington DC that I have read anywhere.  It says, “He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, Will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.   When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.   Whoever loves wisdom makes his father rejoice, But a companion of harlots wastes his wealth.   The king establishes the land by justice, But he who receives bribes overthrows it.   A man who flatters his neighbor Spreads a net for his feet.   By transgression an evil man is snared, But the righteous sings and rejoices. The righteous considers the cause of the poor, But the wicked does not understand such knowledge. Scoffers set a city aflame, But wise men turn away wrath. If a wise man contends with a foolish man, Whether the fool rages or laughs, there is no peace. ”

How do we pray for a nation where the Senate is mandated to pass a budget, but refuses so the president may allocate money wherever he desires?  How do we pray for a nation where the dominant political party advocates antichrist policies aimed at silencing anyone who stands for biblical morality?  How do we pray for a nation where the ruling political party is willing to shut down the government while the biased media blames the other political party?

The first thing we do is lay down what is happening in the natural and ask, “Lord do you have a solution in addition to praying David’s Psalms on the heads of the guilty?” The answer to that question is absolutely yes! I believe God has a long-term solution!  I’m reminded of when the Lord gave Jack Hayford a vision of Southern California from Santa Barbara to San Diego.

Near 30 years ago, Jack felt himself lifted straight into the air and looked down on the topography of Southern California.  The Lord asked, “How did I form this?”  Before Jack could respond the answer came, “Over many years through floods and earthquakes.”  Then the Lord continued, “In the same way, through spiritual floods and earthquakes, I’m going to transform the culture of Southern California!”

It is time to pray for a spiritual flood in the form of a Hispanic Azusa Street!  God has a long-term solution to America’s problem – a culture-changing revival where a new majority arises with biblical values and they vote accordingly.  We should be able to pray for that with all our hearts!  God is going to reform Southern California’s culture!   May God arise and His enemies be scattered!
