Scripture: Genesis 12:1-3

In Genesis 12:1-3 we are told, “Now the Lord had said to Abram: ‘Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’” Axios has its origins in verse 3 where we are told, “I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you;…” We note here that axios prayer is the judicial foundation of the Abrahamic covenant. When people bless the church, we have the covenantal obligation to ask God to bless them. When people decimate the church, pass rules to limit it or take our privileges and freedoms away, under the unction of the Holy Spirit we have the obligation of asking God to do to them what they are doing to the church. That is axios justice in action and it is a simple prayer away for every mature believer. By refusing to pray against, we may be forfeiting covenant justice!
