Scripture: Psalm 24:1-4

Psalm 24:1-4 says, “The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters. Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully.” Can we stand in God’s Presence in this hour? Are we finishing the school that delivers us from self? It appears that one of the main idols of Jesus’ day was, in fact, the religious system. And people had to make a choice to get delivered. They were either going to choose the system or choose the unusual voices that God sent to represent Him. Jesus was an unusual voice that God sent. And people had to make a choice – were they going to choose the system or were they going to choose the anointing and revelation of One who ended up getting locked up outside the system. Is the religious system an idol? Can church be an idol? Will we have to make the same choice that the people of Jesus’ generation made? That could be tough. What price will we pay to hear?
