Scripture: Isaiah 42:2-3

In verses 2 and 3 we are told, “He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street.  A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth.”  The Hebrew word for truth is eh-meth, meaning the stability of right.  The New Testament translation of eh-meth is kre-sis, and means the promise of an administrative decision or a judicial decree to utterly vanquish the enemy.  In the Old Testament we are looking at judgment that brings the stability of right or a prophetic proclamation establishing God’s moral standard by judgment.  The number one assignment Jesus had next to paying the price for man’s sin was to establish the yardstick of God’s justice based on His moral code of truth.  The moral code of truth is the Ten Commandments and the justice of God means enforcing the moral code which brings stability to  the land rather than defiling it.  We need to ask ourselves, “Are we in a land that is blessed, or are we are in a land that is defiled?”  If we are in a land that is defiled, and it would appear that judgment is coming, what do we do concerning justice?   Abraham pleaded for separating the righteous from the wicked.
