Scripture: Genesis 12:1-3, 14-17

The first manifestation of covenant justice was when God intervened and rebuked kings for Abraham’s sake.  There was a famine in the land and instead of staying there and letting God provide, Abram went south into Egypt.  When he got into Egypt, some of Pharaoh’s officers saw the beauty of Abraham’s wife Sarai and appropriated her for Pharaoh’s house.  Verse 16 says, “He treated Abram well for her sake. He had sheep, oxen, male donkeys, male and female servants, female donkeys, and camels.”  While Pharaoh was nice to Abram for taking his wife away, God saw it a little differently.  Verse 17 says, “But the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram’s wife.”  The first thing you realize is that God is willing to intervene in behalf of His people.  But because the American Church is nicer than God, we don’t ask Him to plague anybody.  However with this abominable administration, that could change.  It is time for the church to be the church.  Stop being a wimp and a weasel and try being a man and a woman of God!  Put a covenant demand on God for exactly what Abram and Sarai got.  It is time that God plagued the enemy dramatically.
